Hi,

From your description it seems rather likely that your prints are modern reprints or reproductions.

What you can do yourself is to compare them to good photographic reproductions of the original prints. These may often be difficult to find, but in this case I think you're lucky. At this web address there are very good images of the prints in the series:

http://metro.tokyo.opac.jp/tml/tpic/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?Kbseqid=984&Sryparam=001&Backpage=/tml/tpic/resprint_d/all/isbn001_0_30/isbn001_001_004.html&Srhfname=/resprint_d/all/isbn001_0_30/isbn001&Rp_kind=8&Prtype=0&Displmt=30

You just leaf through the pages by clicking on the arrow above each image. When you find one of yours, click on the image to get one with higher resolution.

If you don't know how to do the comparing, read John Fiorillo's FAQ: "How do I know my print is an original?" (http://optometry.berkeley.edu/~fiorillo/texts/topictexts/faq/faq_original.html#how_original)

Even if you don't find any significant differences between your prints and the original, it's still no guarantee, though, that yours are original prints - they could just be very well made. Then you'll have to consult an expert. However, if you do find significant differences, they prove that your prints were produced by other blocks than the original ones, sparing you the trouble of finding an expert who could look at them.

Best regards,
Hans Olof
