Is it known approximately when (and why) Yoshitora got expelled from Kuniyoshi's studio?
Is there any notable change in his work around that period such as decrease in output or change of style, etc. Maybe given his talent it would not be so difficult to find work elsewhere, but still it seems like a big problem for a young artist to face. It seems that the ukiyoe designers were a tight-knit group so it's not clear what an "expelled" artist would do under those circumstances.
