O.K., I know this is supposed to be questions about Ukiyo-e, but I don't know where else to ask questions about Shin Hanga.
I recently purchased the print "Benkei Bridge at Night" by Tsuchiya Koitsu at auction. After removing the print from the frame I noticed that although the print still has full margins all around, there were no printer/carver or publisher seals.
I guess this could have been a printing error, as there is just a hint of a line or two where the seals should have been, but it seems far more likely to have been done deliberately. Is this a later edition done by a publisher other than Doi? Does someone else own the blocks for this print now?
