I just bought a print that appears to be by Rakusan. It is of two Mandarin ducks, a male standing on one leg and a female sitting. They are under what appears to be a branch of apple blossoms and leaves. It is 18.5 in. by 13.5 in, has what appears to be the same set of Japanese characters as a signature in the lower right corner, and also has a set of characters pencilled in the lower margin between the print and the mat, the first of which appears to be in parentheses. It has a burnt orange background.
I liked it immediatly when I saw it, and am glad that information about his work is available on the web. Can anyone tell me more? Please try and see it via the attached URL, which usually works.
