Hi All;

First off, thanks to everyone for providing such a wonderful forum by which the noble pursuit of Ukiyo-e collecting may be further enhanced. My question: I just purchased a copy of Hiroshige's "Horie and Nekozane", a print from "100 Views of Edo". The colors are quite good, condition is good, but my question relates to the printing. The sky is red, as you see in the link, bu according to the Brooklyn Museum of Art book, "Hiroshige:One Hundred Famous Views of Edo", this print has a blue sky. Additionally, my copy is not quite as sharp with respect to the color registration, lacks the shading on Mt. Fuji and the little people on the right bottom corner are lacking the flesh-coloredpigment in their face. The ground on which they stand does seem to have the mica in the ink, a welcoming sign. I haven't been able to find sufficient woodgrain to authenticate this, but my eyes are not nearly as trained as mny of you in this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Alex (in Dallas)
