Alice,

I assume by "ink bleeding effect" that you mean 'bokashi' or gradation printing. In ukiyo-e printmaking the term "bleeding" is reserved for pigments moving through the paper, front to back, during and after printing, a normal result of using traditional Japanese papers and pigments, or to the spread of pigments from moisture damaging the print surface.
