The gyoji seal of the publisher Iwato-ya Kisaburo, acting as censor, appears to have been used thus in 1812 according to Ishii Kendo's 'Nishiki-e no aratame-in no kosho' (Investigations of censor seals on brocade prints), Tokyo 1932
