If you'd care to see the original in person, it can be viewed by appointment at the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts in the Legion of Honor in SF. We're experiencing a staff crunch right now so we're not taking appointments in the near future, but sometime in the Spring should be okay. Seeing the original will also give you a better sense of the subtlety and precision that went into the carving and coloring of the genuine article.

: As for my comment regarding the color blue on your copy, I meant that the particular hue and density could not have been found in 18th century examples. It's too opaque or dense, unlike the more transparent blue pigments used during Sharaku's time.
