My aunt (Audrey Bassett), who is now deceased, established the Junior Red Cross in Japan in 1946. While in Japan, she purchased several works of art. I have inherited these beautiful works through my mother, but cannot locate anyone to familiarize me with the works and the artists. However, one of the "beautiful women" (woodblock print) is by Utagawa Kunyoshi. My aunt wrote a note to this effect on the back of the frame and my neighbor, a visiting Japanese businessman, verified the signature on the print. I live in Dallas, Texas . . . WHO CAN I CONTACT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE COLLECTION? I can take pictures of the prints and post them, but I know so little about how to properly handle them. They are currently framed behind glass, so a flash attachment reflects. My desire is to return the prints to their place of origin in Japan . . . their home.
