The set is numbered by the "iroha" syllables each in a lozenge-shaped label, but sometimes they are omitted. Pub(lisher) Ise-ya Isaburo; cens(ure) aratame; date seal Snake 3-8, April-October 1957."

: I have 2 prints each of two different series of the 47 Ronin by Kunisada.
: 2 are from the series currently showing at www.castlefinearts.com, with
: figures on plain paper, identified by numerals in a roundel.
: 2 are from another series, with figures in scene, identified by Hiragana
: symbol in a diamond. There is a secondary image at top left, and series
: title is in white on a black tsuba at top right. Publication date is
: Snake/6.
: Can anyone tell me anything about this series, as I have never seen prints
: like this published anywhere. I can e-mail .jpgs.
